The Environment - Kansas and Unsustainable Development and Our Friend the Beaver Not!

Two things that I don't understand. One is the whole conspiracy thing about Agenda 21 and the bogeyman UN coming to take away our freedoms. The world has problems that extend beyond the borders of any one country. To solve those problems ALL of the countries of the world have to work together. Things won't get solved if one or more countries don't do their part! The other thing is the aversion to sustainable development. The many of the world's resource, i.e. oil are finite and methods have be found to live within are means and to preserve the environment for future generations. Folks in Kansas - just one more thing to say "What's the Matter with Kansas? about" Their are folks in Kansas who want to ban sustainable development thereby according to Grist - Kansas may mandate unsustainable development

Legislation introduced in Kansas would ban the promotion or practice by state agencies of sustainable development. Don’t they know that when sustainable development is outlawed, only outlaws develop sustainably? House Bill 2366, introduced into the House Energy and Environment Committee, would prevent any state funds from being “used, either directly or indirectly, to promote, support, mandate, require, order, incentivize, advocate, plan for, participate in or implement sustainable development.” Weird. Maybe the numskulls behind the bill don’t grasp the actual meaning of “sustainable development.” Perhaps they think the term refers specifically to Agenda 21, which Glenn Beck and other right-wingers claim is a diabolical United Nations plot to force Americans to live in cities and ride public transit. The horror! Checking the bill … nope … no misinterpretation here. The legislation’s definition of sustainable development is surprisingly clear and positive sounding: “[A] mode of human development in which resource use aims to meet human needs while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but also for generations to come.” Continue Reading
While I was reading posts at Grist tonight I also saw how scary the little beaver is! Mess with beavers, pay the price

Beaver before the attack! Beware!
Beavers are apparently scary as shit — one just bit a guy to death in Belarus. And I have to say that even though watching this I had the benefit of hindsight, the beaver has a very ominous looking tail. It should have been enough warning.
